Copyright protects the rights of an author to reproduce, publish, perform, communicate and adapt his work. Such works include literary, dramatic, musical and artistic works. Photographs are deemed artistic works by the Singapore Copyright Act (Cap. 63).

SingTel has launched a photo contest aimed at the professional photography community to kick start the "Home Without Walls" campaign comprising a series of initiatives to inspire and celebrate real and meaningful connections. Taking place from 20 March to 19 May, the winner will walk away with a cash prize worth S$15,000.

A Fine Art – Fashion Exhibition

Extreme Beauty is a collage of impactful, exaggerated forms built in to a social commentary of the modern world's notion of beauty. Expect a varied tone and approach to the curatorial for this exhibition. Interesting highlights include Skye Tan's multi sensory artwork titled, "The Offering" as he attempts to recreate several meat dresses with veteran artisan, Joe Rahim & perfumist Sifr Aromatics styled by Randolph Tan from Runway Addict.

Harvesting the Light

Light has fascinated Richard since childhood. He considers photography a mystical art where “one harvests light which comes from Above”. One of his great joys is to be able to harvest the light anywhere on earth.

In 2003, despite having a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering, he made a mid-career switch from R&D engineering to photography, leaving behind three patents for inventions to his name. This unusual career move was featured in the TV programme Career Blueprints in Jan 2007.

Now 40, his photographs have received international acclaim during his mere 8 years as a full time professional photographer.
