1. NAME
The name of the Association shall be known as the Professional Photographers Association (Singapore), hereafter referred to as the "Association".


2. PLACE OF BUSINESS
The place of business of the Association shall be at 136 Joo Seng Road, 1st Floor Brilliant Building, Singapore 368360 or such other address as may be decided upon by the Committee and approved by the Registrar of Societies.


3. OBJECTS
The objects of the Association shall be to foster, develop and uplift the image, skills, morale, welfare and professionalism of professional photographers in Singapore through the organizing of the appropriate activities which include the following:

a) Compile and maintain a register of practicing professional photographers.

b) Advise members on professional practice, marketing approaches, strategies, campaigns and image building.

c) Publish newsletters, journals and information (technical or otherwise of relevance) for circulation among members.

d) Liaise with recognized institutions of learning for continuing photographic education programs for photographers.

e) Promote and encourage co-operation between photographers on a national and international level.


4. MEMBERSHIP
Members shall be open to professional photographers and persons and/or organizations associated with the field of professional photography. There shall be six classes of membership.


a) Active Members: Singapore citizens and Permanent Residents above the age of 18 who are full time photographers. They shall have the right to vote at General Meetings, nominate or second a candidate and stand for election.

b) Life Members: Persons who have been an Active Member of good standing for a minimum period of five years whose application of which were approved by the Committee.

c) Honorary Members: Persons or organizations who have distinguished themselves or who have made significant contributions to the growth of the Association, may be conferred the Honorary Membership by the General Meeting. They shall be accorded the same privileges and benefits of an Active Member except the right to hold office or the right to nominate or vote.

d) Associate Members: Persons or organizations whose functions or operations are related or associated to the practice of professional photography. They shall be accorded the same privileges and benefits extended to Active Members except the right to hold office and the right to nominate or vote.

e) Affiliate Members: Professional photographers who are not Singapore citizens or Permanent Residents. They share the same rights and benefits of an Associate Member.

f) Student Members: Singapore Residents who are undergoing studies in the field of professional photography. They shall have the same rights and benefits of an Associate Member.



Any persons or organization desiring to be admitted to the Association's membership shall make an application to the Hon. Secretary in accordance with such procedures as may be laid down by the Committee who may approve or reject any application without assigning any reason thereof.


5. ENTRANCE FEES, SUBCRIPTION AND OTHER DUES
a)Entrance fees payable upon election to membership shall be S$60.00 (Singapore Dollars Sixty Only) for Active, Associate, Affiliate and Student members.

b)Annual Subscriptions payable in advance on admission and thereafter annually in advance, shall be:

Active Members: S$120.00 ( Singapore Dollars One Hundred Twenty Only)

Associate Members: S$60.00 ( Singapore Dollars Sixty Only )

Affiliate Members: S$180.00 ( Singapore Dollars One Hundred eighty Only )

Student Members: S$30.00 ( Singapore Dollars Thirty Only )

c) Entrance fees and Subscriptions shall not be refundable.

d) The rate of Entrance Fees and Annual Subscriptions may only be varied by a General Meeting. Any special levy for particular purposes in furtherance of the Objects of the Association may only be raised from members with the consent of the General Meeting.

e)A Life Member shall make a single payment S$1000.00 (Singapore Dollars One Thousand Only) and thereafter be absolved of paying annual subscription to the Association.

f) If a member falls into arrears with his subscription or other approved dues, he shall be served with a reminder by the Hon. Treasurer at his last address registered with the Association. If he fails to settle his arrears within three weeks of their becoming due, the President may order that his name be posted on the Association's notice board and that he be denied the privileges of membership until he settles his account. If he continues to default with his payment for more than 3 months, he shall automatically cease to be a member and shall remain liable for any dues or goods borrowed from the Association.

g) If an Active Member is to be absent from Singapore for a period exceeding three months from the due of his annual subscription, he may apply to be member-at-large, in which case, his subscription can be allowed to resume upon his return.
