It's that time of the year again, and KL PHOTOAWARDS is once again calling for entries to its second Contemporary Photographic Portraiture Competition. Open to all international photographers, from amateurs to professionals alike, this year, the competition is WIDE OPEN! There will be no distinction between pros and non-pro photographers, simply because we found from the 2009 event that the non-pro standards were very high, with some extraordinary technical and conceptual images received.

Region's only international fair focusing on contemporary photography

Asia International Photography Fair (AIPF), the region's first fair for contemporary photo-based artworks, will be held from 8-12 October 2009 at the Suntec Singapore Convention Centre. Housed together with ARTSingapore, an annual fair devoted to contemporary visual arts, AIPF aims to meet the emerging demand for imagery and photographical art forms in Asia Pacific.

In its 9th year, ARTSingapore is the only major art fair in Southeast Asia. Held annually, this contemporary Asian art fair has established a reputation as the place to see contemporary art and museum-quality pieces in Asia. Here, leading art galleries launch new pieces by young artists that will set the trend for the next few years. The event attracts about 15,000 art collectors, art lovers annually.
